Sanded In

I flew down to Florida last week-end for an appearance at Murder on the Beach. It’s a wonderful little book store in Delray Beach. I was thrilled to be back.

Flights heading north had been cancelled and people were holding onto their rental cars. Hertz was not only without cars, but also without any obvious understanding of customer relations. You could feel a chill in the air in the rental car center.

And then the storm unleashed its fury. My flight home was cancelled. I would have to spend an extra day in Fort Lauderdale. As someone on facebook put it, I was sanded in.

More shameless book promotion

I found this in the New Mystery section at my local Barnes & Noble. Did a little checking and found copies in stock, on the shelf in quite a few B&N locations in central Jersey. So if you’re local, and you don’t like shopping online, you can get autographed copies of Death and White Diamonds in the B&N stores in North Brunswick, East Brunswick or Hamilton. Or in Princeton, where you’ll also find books (not autographed).

This past Tuesday evening, I had the great pleasure of speaking on a panel at the Mid-Manhattan branch of the New York Public Library. My thanks to Triss Stein at the New York chapter of the Mystery Writers of America for setting this up, to Dirk Robertson for moderating and to my fellow panelists authors Sheila York and Erica Obey. And of course, a big thank you to the library staff for hosting us.

On Sunday at 1:00 I’ll be at Murder on the Beach in Delray Beach, Florida reading an excerpt from Death and White Diamonds and signing books. I hope to see you there. (It’s not too late to book a flight).
