If you’re in or near NJ and you love books, you’ll want to spend Sunday at BooksNJ 2015. Not only because I’m going to be there (although I’d love it if you come by and say hello) but because it promises to be a great place for book lovers of all ages to get together and celebrate the joy of reading.
“BooksNJ is a book festival celebrating writing, reading, and books! The event features panel discussions, readings, storytelling and crafts. It’s fun for all ages and there’s something for everyone.”
There are approximately 30 panels on the schedule, plus workshops, keynotes, and, especially for the kids, story time.
The festival takes place on the grounds of the Paramus Public Library. From 3:20 – 4:00, you will find me speaking on a panel – Tickle Me Author: how to write funny. The rest of the afternoon, I’ll be hanging out in Author’s Alley, signing books and chatting with readers, writers and book lovers. I’m looking forward to catching up with friends and colleagues, including Steve Rigolosi, Ilene Schneider, Eileen F. Watkins and Dave White. But even more, I’m looking forward to making new friends.
And as if that wasn’t enough, the weather forecast for Sunday is perfect for an outdoor festival. I hope to see you there.
In other book news, I learned today that Death and White Diamonds has been nominated for the David Award for best mystery, to be given out at Deadly Ink, NJ’s annual gathering of readers, writers and fans of the mystery genre. I’m flattered to receive the nomination and honored to be listed along with such talented writers. The other nominees include Jeff Cohen and E.J. Cooperman, Jane Cleland, Steve Rigolosi (there’s that name again), Annette Dashofy and Janice MacDonald.
Deadly Ink will take place in New Brunswick, NJ on August 7 – 9. If you love mysteries, you belong at Deadly Ink.
